Liver wrap

Leberwickel

Liver wrap

This simple liver compress with rosemary gently supports the metabolism and the body's natural detoxification processes. It has relaxing properties on the autonomic nervous system and, in this respect, helps relieve strain on the immune system. Both rosemary (CT cineole) and CT verbenone are described as liver-strengthening. Therefore, this recipe is a two-way street.

Products

30 ml sesame oil
8 drops Rosemary CT Verbenone or Cineole
4 drops Lavender fine
1 small cloth (e.g. tea towel or terry cloth)
1 dry larger towel
1 Hot water bottle or a cherry stone pillow

Instructions

  1. Mix 30 ml of sesame oil with 8 drops of rosemary cineole or verbenone and 4 drops of lavender, gently swirling.

  2. Apply ½ tablespoon of liver oil to the liver area (below the right rib cage). Soak a small cloth with warm water, wring it out well, and place it on the liver area. Then wrap or cover it with a dry, warm towel and keep it warm with a hot-water bottle or cherry stone pillow.
Leave your liver wrap on your skin for about 40 minutes, then be sure to allow yourself another half hour of rest. The warm wrap is particularly soothing and sleep-inducing in the evening before bedtime.
